you snooze you lose

Another repeat outfit (sort of.) Still waiting for warmer weather to try something new.
The frequent torrential downpours are not helping the situation either.

This is another one of my favorite shirts, by Ralph Lauren. I love the white collar. I went back to purchase a few more and maybe other colors but sadly they were all sold out.
Oh well - you win some you lose some!

  7. i love how with everything you wear, it's all just straightforward pieces but when you add them all together they just work so well.

  8. Thanks for your comments!

Yes, I should probably stop buying button-downs but I actually need a lot for work (more shirts less laundry! Ha!) I also threw some old ones out recently, ones that were yellowing and others that didn't fit so nicely.

Pret, thanks! I will be reading those reviews. Aside from the Dior Jeune Homme shirt I have I don't have much luck with boys' shirts, they never seem to fit the bust and shoulders correctly.

  9. Question for Koko- are your button down shirts primarily men's or women's? It looks like a lot of them are oversized- but because you are really petite or buy larger sizes? Either way, it still looks great. I was just curious.

Thanks for your question! They are mostly women's shirts. They probably look like men's shirts because for some inexplicable reason I don't like bust darts or front seams that most women's shirts have; it's actually hard to find women's shirts that don't have darts or seams to give them shape, so I grab them when I see them. Steven Alan makes shirts without bust darts and front seams - they are basically men's shirts shrunk down to women's sizes, which is why I like them.
Some Ralph Lauren shirts are also plain front, but have darts in the back for shape - I don't like those either so I usually take a seam ripper and carefully undo the back darts. As long as the front is plain I can always get rid of extra seams and darts in the back.

I also wear these shirts for work, so I have to make sure that they don't gape too much at the bust, so even if a smaller size might fit better in the shoulders or waist, I will size up for a more comfortable fit around my chest, and also so that I can wear a cami underneath in case of a little gaping.

    Hope that answers your question!
