ugh, i know. i try to avoid the jeans-and-cute-top outfit but i thought the white jeans seemed kind of fresh. anyway "eveningwear" was never really my forte.

i think the music in the cab ride home was better than at brass monkey, but

memorial day '09

off to meet up with the family for brunch (everyone's at the hamptons! no lines to get into restaurants!), then taking advantage of mum's membership as well as a rare monday holiday opening at the Met to view the Model as Muse exhibit.

memorial day is kind of a melancholy holiday. my family has never left the city during this time, we happen to like the emptiness and quiet of the city (and my dad probably enjoys the suspended parking rules, since he is always getting tickets). we don't do the traditional barbecue, but we like to spend this holiday together to remind ourselves how lucky we are that we have each other and no war tragedy has hit very close to home. god bless the troops and veterans.
