fashion desert

I've been experiencing "dejà vu" with my outfits lately, and this one is no exception, so if it's been a bit boring around here lately I do apologize. I did buy a few great pieces recently to spice up my wardrobe. I'll introduce them as soon as I finish up alterations - hemming, shortening sleeves, blah blah blah. Oh the life of a short girl!

I did have some fancier shoes on originally, but I decided it was too early in the day for sexytime. Kidding! (It's never too early for sexytime.) Actually I realized that I had two different colors on my toenails and fingernails so I swapped out the sandals for these dorky heeled desert boots. I liked the more casual feel.

Dance dance dance!

  4. I like painting my nails different colours but you always get the questioning raised eyebrow. I think it goes very well with an all black outfit.

  6. I like to think that repeat outfits are not so much a fashion rut as they are an affirmation that it's a great outfit. Tried and true. ;)

  7. I like the way the desert boots fit in with the rest of the outfit. Also — that leather jacket looks amazing! I always have problems with the fit of vintage leathers...

  8. ^^ hehe, I'm glad you think it looks great, but actually the jacket is too small, it won't zip across my chest! But at least it looks good open ;-)

  13. ^^ hey Anon! In NY I used to take my things to the dry cleaners on 81st St., right off Madison Ave. (sorry, I don't know the particular name!) between Park and Madison but closer to Madison, on the south side of 81st. I went to school in the area and used to drop off my uniforms and stuff, so I just continued to go to her even when I moved far away. If that's nowhere close to where you are, a good tip is to go to a clothing boutique in your neighborhood and ask them who they use for alterations, they usually can give good recommendations. My mom also did a lot of my altering for me, so I never really had to go out and find a dedicated tailor, so if you're uncomfortable with the idea of tailors within dry cleaners, I'm sorry I'm not much help!

In Philly I go to Gloria's tailor shop on 10th St.

  14. Love a good side-slit skirt, the slit on yours is perfectly placed, and revealing without showing too much.
