Photobucket

i kind of enjoy how this tunic exaggerates my hips...

Photobucket

it reminds of this fashion era...

no exciting finds from my shopping trip unfortunately - i decided i would rather enjoy the beautiful weather with friends and family than be stuck in fitting rooms all day! i did sneak in a quick trip to Century21, but everything i wanted was either too big or too expensive.

however, i did pack up my spring wardrobe which was in storage at my parents' place and found a few items i had purchased during end of season sales last year that i never got the chance to wear, so it certainly feels like i did a lot of shopping! i also slowed down my posts during spring/summer last year (warm weather + baseball season = less time in front of the computer and more time outside and/or yelling at the TV (or radio, now that i don't have access to the YES network here in philly...)) so you didn't get to see the bulk of my spring/summer wardrobe. there will be a lot of new things to show you guys. as always, thanks for sticking around!

memorial day '09

off to meet up with the family for brunch (everyone's at the hamptons! no lines to get into restaurants!), then taking advantage of mum's membership as well as a rare monday holiday opening at the Met to view the Model as Muse exhibit.

ITEMS (rollover mouse to view detailed picture)
Yohji Yamamoto silk tunic
LNA cotton zipper leggings
Chloe shoes
pearl ring and earrings

Outfit Details

memorial day is kind of a melancholy holiday. my family has never left the city during this time, we happen to like the emptiness and quiet of the city (and my dad probably enjoys the suspended parking rules, since he is always getting tickets). we don't do the traditional barbecue, but we like to spend this holiday together to remind ourselves how lucky we are that we have each other and no war tragedy has hit very close to home. god bless the troops and veterans.

?? sometime in february 2009

found an old picture on my camera that i haven't posted yet, from this winter, sometime in february.

Photobucket

ITEMS (rollover to view detailed picture)
Yohji Yamamoto silk tunic
Yves Saint Laurent flat boots
flea market necklace
American Apparel turtleneck
H&M tights

Outfit Details

i made several alterations to this Yamamoto tunic. i took out the sleeves because they were too tight along my lower arm. i also took it in at the sides along the armpits because apparently this tunic was made for someone with like a triple D-cup chest, which i am definitely not equipped with. lol.

february weekday

work has been really stressful this week (i know, it's only tuesday! haha...), and i don't have much energy left to download/crop/post the few pictures i took of my outfit this past sunday, but here's a little preview:

* sidenote: ny fashion week has come and gone. the channel i used to watch videos on (Full Frontal Fashion on UltraHD) has ceased operations, so now i rely on good ol' nyctv (already one of my favorite channels anyway... secrets of new york, anyone?) for my fashion fix. i won't say much else because certain collections - wang, wasson - have been blogged about so much already, but for me the winner was definitely Ralph Lauren. i'm tellin ya, that sh*t is gonna sell come autumn/winter, and damned if that's not one of the (many) things the US needs most right now.

oh and as for me, those Ohne Titel knee zip leggings and one of Rodarte's foil-accented minidresses? yes, please!
