One wardrobe trick that has always worked for me is to wear skirts higher up in my waist, right at the smallest part of my torso, to make my legs look longer.
Missoni top // R.E.D. Valentino skirt // Hermes belt // Fendi bag // Gucci watch // Giuseppe Zanotti sandals |
Dolce & Gabbana silk top // vintage Christian Dior skirt // Hermes belt // Gucci watch // Giuseppe Zanotti sandals |
This skirt is so old (actually all of the clothes in this post are!) I'm so glad it still fits. The skirt is actually several layers of pleated silk. It's hard to tell from the outfit picture so here is a closeup:
Love the print! |
Love the combo of the pleats and bold print. What a great vintage piece!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen you wear anything like that floral print! It looks gorgeous and so refreshing.
ReplyDeleteBoth skirts are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell, it helps when you have great legs! I love the look of skirts that hit higher on the waist but whenever I wear one I get stomach pains. I think it's because it restricts my breathing in a weird way. Does that happen to you at all or am I a special snowflake?
ReplyDeletethese outfits seem like such a departure for you! it is a good tip because you DO look super long-legged and small-waisted.
ReplyDeleteclassic tip, always helps me! C:

Beautiful skirts! And a very good tip! ;)
ReplyDeleteStunning. Perfect for these warm summer days in this hot city. So feminine.
ReplyDeleteYou're totally right about the comfort (er, discomfort) of Alexander Wang shoes. The only pair of shoes I have of his are flat boots so maybe my mind is playing tricks on me thinking I could pull those off. Pretty to look at nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteA colorful pattern on you! That's new!
I also try to wear my skirts higher up on my waist as well, but sometimes I still feel as though it doesn't look quite right on me. Your skirts are totally adorable!
ReplyDeletegreat idea!! really love both these looks <3 and great belt!!
