when it comes to "things i do not look forward to every season," donning tight white jeans is right up there with putting on a bikini for the first time after a long winter. for some reason light-colored denim is not as forgiving as black or darker-wash denim.
but i happen to love the look of crisp white jeans so every spring i take a deep breath and pray that i still fit into them. i usually wear a loose-fitting top and heels to make me feel less squat.
i get less self-conscious and less traumatized after the first couple of wears and as the season progresses white jeans become a wardrobe staple for me.

un petit sac
justified the purchase by telling myself i could use it for work...
...but i think it might be too pretty for a work bag!

super score
i was too busy to snap any outfit pictures this weekend. fortunately for times like these i have a few old outfit pictures sitting pretty in my hard drive that i never got around to post. here's one of them:
ITEMS (mouse over to view detailed picture)
Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse leopard scarf
Yves Saint Laurent upside-down Eiffel Tower logo tee
3.1 Phillip Lim wide-leg trousers (old, from Barneys Co-op sale)
Ann Demeulemeester cropped biker jacket (from Bergdorf Goodman sale/NYC)
Christian Louboutin patent leather leopard print wedges (very old, from Barneys clearance/NYC)
thank you to everyone for your suggestions for work shoes! i did like the Dandy Slip-Ons that a few of you recommended, but i was too unfamiliar with the brand and quality to drop that kind of dough on them. i was glad i didn't because on a recent trip to Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets in upstate NY, i nabbed two pairs of Tod's loafers from the clearance rack - the cost of both pairs together was less than half of one pair at full retail! SCOOOOOORE!!!
i am all set for spring work footwear now.

what a difference a week makes
oh, schizophrenic spring!
here's what i wore last sunday - it was cold, dreary, and rainy...
(Helmut Lang (original, pre-Theory, by Helmut Lang) button-down with elbow slits; Current/Elliot side-zip jeans; vintage Moschino belt; Rick Owens leather neck cashmere poncho; Alaia studded boots then switched over to Hunter wellies)
and here's what i wore yesterday - it was sunny, hot, and humid...
i purchased this dress early last fall at an end-of-season sale at Ludivine in NYC. the weather turned cooler soon after so this spring was the first time i was actually able to wear it!
(Vanessa Bruno dress; Juicy Couture heels; vintage necklace from Greenflea Market/NYC)
it's a good thing all of my clothes - fall/winter and spring/summer - fit in one closet otherwise i would be completely lost when the weather gods can't make up their minds!
