casual friday

Here is a selection of my work outfits from the past month.

On the far right is an outfit for casual Friday. I had not been able to participate in casual Friday that often because my jeans were either skinny and too tight to wear to the office or boyfriend-fit with too many holes in them. Several weeks ago I decided to do something about it and bought a pair of jeans appropriate for work - still on the slim side, but not so baggy as to look sloppy. These are actually just skinny jeans which I bought 2 sizes up from my regular denim size. They are by Resin, from Barneys. I have a similar pair by Diesel that is a darker wash, so between the two I'm able to take advantage of a few more casual Fridays. It's a nice little perk, it makes the weekend seem that much closer.

  2. GAH! I can't imagine having to adhere to a dress code for work. I sometimes wear my pajamas to work when I'm especially lazy. Such are the perks of my industry I suppose. Although I do think that my nicer clothes go to waste since there's only two (ahem) days out of the week(end) that I put even the smallest bit of effort into dressing.

Oh and the ring is the official one. Indeed engaged...

  3. digging your work clothes (the outfit in the middle and the right are particularly striking)

i also like how you manage to stay true to your aesthetic in spite of a dress code. for whatever reason, i go into girly mode when i teach which is def. not my style on my own time

  4. I love all of your outfits, very my style. I really like the look of your jeans and I love the skinny boyfriend fit.. I used to buy skinny jeans in a couple of sizes larger in order to achieve the same look, but not even a belt can make those jeans hang on my hips.. and that beige coat of yours, so beautiful!

  5. I like the preppy vibe too - I stick to a similar uniform for work, I just swap jeans for cigarette pants on other days.

I'm switching jobs soon so I can pretty much wear jeans anytime I want soon, that's one perk I'm looking forward to.

  6. I always like your work posts. The nude patent loafers look excellent with the jeans and blazer look. I like the middle with the cream outerwear too.

  7. Thank God I have no dress code @work,free choice, no limits( well,I cannot look sloppy, that's obvious:)
I love Your casual looks and think it's great idea with 2size larger jeans.I have been looking for nice jeans, but very hard to find ones.I cannot decide on color(black, denim, dark grey) and style:0
But, I am most likely to buy high waisted jeans this time. They would surely enhance my leg length:=)
